July's interest rate announcement has had the effect of continuing the reduction in prices in the Durham region. We saw a decrease in prices from June to July of about 7%. That means, from the peak of the market at the end of February, we have seen prices reduce by 30%...

Similar trends continue since April of this year. Our inventory numbers remain high and our buyer demand is not what it was in February. Since the peak in February we have seen home values reduce by more than 20%, a correction of the staggering price jump we saw in the first two months of 2022. Prices are roughly back to what they were in October or November of 2021...

History has once again repeated itself. Last year the December to January appreciation was a record-breaking 12.6%. Well as we transitioned to 2022 we saw an even bigger jump with January 2022 home prices 13.7% higher than the preceding month...
